Mold Process Technician (Machine Set Up) - Competitive Pay

SUMMARY: Sets up, maintains, and adjusts mold presses and related production machines, and monitors machine runs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Based on production schedules, places mold in mold press machine and tests and adjusts machine for proper operation.
- Inspects first article on production run and makes necessary machine adjustments to ensure that specifications are met.
- Makes daily written reports of set-up activities.
- Operates mold press machines and automatic molding machines as required.
- Adjusts and troubleshoots mold press and other machines.
- Cleans and maintains tools.
- Initiates work orders for maintenance and repair of molds.
- Performs minor mold maintenance per instructions.
- Collaborates with Mold Maker in fabrication and repair of molds, dies, and machine parts.
- Monitors machines to insure proper set-ups have been performed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through:
- Completion of a High school, vocational, trade or technical diploma, or general education degree (GED),
- Two to six years of related experience or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to use shop mathematics, fairly complicated drawings, specifications, formulas and a wide variety of precision measuring instruments together with a broad knowledge in application techniques of a recognized craft.
- Ability to use considerable initiative and ingenuity to plan, lay out and perform unusual and difficult work, and the ability to make decisions that involve considerable judgment.
