Summary

The Registered Nurse / RN is responsible for administering direct and indirect nursing care to an assigned group of patients who are scheduled for Surgical procedures in the Short Stay Unit. The Registered Nurse / RN performs assessment, intervention, evaluation, and teaching as they relate to the surgical procedure. The Registered Nurse / RN provides patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team based on national standards, and utilizing the nursing process. The RN functions within the Nurse Practice Act and other regulating bodies providing patient focused care. The Registered Nurse / RN participates in process improvement, professional education, committees and meetings to maintain competence and advance the mission and values of Good Samaritan Medical Center. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Education
Graduate of an approved School of Nursing


Licenses, Certifications



  • Licensed Registered Nurse, State of Florida

  • Current BLS and ACLS certification, PALS within 1 year of hire


Experience
One year of Med/Surg experience as an RN
