DIRECTV is seeking a Principal Roku Developer to join our team dedicated to streaming applications. This senior leader will have a direct impact on the consumer entertainment streaming experience where DIRECTV provides solutions for content protection (DRM), advertisements, and real-time analytics of the video playback experience. DIRECTV apps interact with many different external systems to provide a consistent playback experience across multiple devices and applications. While this is not a supervisory role, this individual contributor will be critical to the DIRECTV Technology Organization’s ability to successfully attain their business goals. Additional key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Working on multiple platforms alongside the best and brightest minds at DIRECTV building the next video platform that will power the DIRECTV STREAM player for years to come!

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related field
  • 8+ years of Client Application development
  • 4+ years of Roku, BrightScript development
  • Experience with SceneGraph API
  • Proven track record with verifiable apps in the store

Preferred Experience

  • RESTful web services
  • Unit Testing
  • Git and Bitbucket version control systems
  • Video platforms and SDKs is a plus
  • Reporting SDKs (Omniture, Nielsen, comScore, New Relic, Conviva) is a plus
  • Graphic design is a plus
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex issues and technologies
  • Willing to take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment

The US base salary range for this Principal Roku Developer full-time position is $127,965 - $232,415 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
