Mental Health Lifeline (988) Associate in Framingham

Suicide Prevention and Health Crisis are searching for a Mental Health Lifeline (988) Associate to answer crisis calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises with empathy and composure to make it easier for Americans in crisis or who are worried about a friend or loved one to access the help they need while decreasing the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health issues.

What To Know:

• Starts at a $20 per hour pay rate
• 2 shifts available (7AM - 3PM and 3PM - 11PM)
• On-site paid classroom training as well as coaching for taking calls
• Huge potential to save numerous lives and contribute goodwill to the society
• Psychology majors, Guidance counselors, Educators, or anyone who has experience helping people who went through domestic violence are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Validating callers' experiences through empathy and acceptance
• Providing callers with resource and referral options as applicable
• Answering calls, chats, and texts coming into the 988 Crisis Call Center, both through the 988 Lifeline and the 414-LINK line
• Identifying best outcomes, including the coordination of wellness checks and/or the dispatch of mobile crisis response teams

Requirements and Skills:

• Experience with crisis intervention, emotional distress, and de-escalation
• Ability to empathetically decide on situations even under pressure
• Awareness of cultural diversity in our society
• Friendly phone etiquette and great verbal communication skills
• Very flexible and reliable in all situations
