Driver

Job Summary:

As a Driver you are responsible for safely transporting and delivering a variety of food products to multiple schools and perform the following duties:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Remain in compliance with DOT rules and regulations; Obey all traffic laws
• Safely operate company truck for the delivery, pickup and relocation of products and materials
• Pull orders from proper location and load them into delivery truck
• Verify that all products/items are present, accounted for, and properly secured for transportation to prevent property damage and/or injury
• Complete required sections from the delivery slips (e.g., driver name, departure time, arrival time, food temperature, etc.) including obtaining customer signatures and return a copy to the office, daily
• Responsible for calling Manager when problems occur during route and/or when delivery is delayed
• Immediately notify Manager in the event of an accident or if vehicle damage is observed
• Required to unload the truck and put away products at the school which can include rotation of products
• Complete thorough pre/post-trip inspections of company vehicle
• Ensure company vehicle is kept clean and free of trash
• Report maintenance issues to Manager
• No passengers are permitted in company vehicles at any times without prior authorization from Manager
• Perform any other tasks assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience driving a truck – including a 26ft bobtail, is preferred
• Must hold and maintain a valid Class C Driver License throughout employment
• Ability to handle manual pallet jack and hand truck (dolly)
• Must be able to read and interpret Maps
• Display and maintain a high standard of professional appearance, behavior, and customer service
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; English reading and writing skills

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting and driving
• Must be able to work and drive in severe weather conditions, both heath and cold
• Must be able to lift, stack, and move up to 75 pounds at a time; ability to climb in and out of truck
