The Lead Systems Engineer provides Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) support to the National Reconnaissance Office, offering unparalleled insight into an emerging mission area and opportunities to secure our nation's space enterprise. SAIC has a funded need for a Lead Systems Engineer t o fill a key position supporting a Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer charged will delivering solutions across a range of rapidly expanding and complex space and ground system initiatives. NOTE: Flexible work schedule options such as 9/80 or 8/80 may be available but dependent upon customer demands. The Lead Systems Engineer will manage a team of high-performing mission and system engineers that directly support the Government in defining, developing, and evolving a state-of-the-art space protection ground system. This position will serve on-site with the Government customer located in Chantilly, VA. Job responsibilities may include but not limited to: * Serve as the System Program Office (SPO) Systems Engineering Lead * Lead SPO mission and systems engineering efforts to define, develop, deliver, and mature space protection ground system capabilities and technologies within an agile-based software development and sustainment framework * Directly manage a diversified team of Mission and Systems Engineers, to include defining work tasks and roles, task prioritization, and evaluating work quality * Oversee SPO execution of systems engineering management processes, including configuration, requirements, risk, and schedule management * Assist the client in planning, managing, performing, and monitoring day-to-day technical program execution activities * Develop briefings and documentation material for client engagements and products Qualifications Required Education and Experience * Bachelor's and 9 years of experience OR Masters and 7 years of experience * Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Polygraph * Demonstrated experience leading technical teams * Demonstrated experience in two or more of the following systems engineering process areas: Requirements Analysis, Functional Analysis and Allocation, Design Synthesis, and System Analysis and Control * Experience with IC or DoD software-intensive architectures and systems * Experience in a technical role supporting the National Reconnaissance Office * Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
