Full Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY
As Shift Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a positive guest experience by ensuring that safe, quality food is prepared and served; and that the restaurant crew is well trained and provides 5-Star service. You’ll be on your feet working while clocked in, unless on break. If you’re not busy, you’ll evaluate what other tasks need to be completed, and assist others with those tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES
Food Quality
- Making sure great tasting, high quality fresh food is served
- Assisting with Daily Prep being completed
- Resolving food quality issues
- Managing food safety which includes: Ensuring hand washing and glove changes, temperature on the line, and enforcing food safety policies and procedures
Guest Interaction
- Resolving any guest incidents and working to ensure positive customer experiences
Team Management
- Managing crew breaks and shift changes
- Developing and cross-training all front of house Crew. Assisting with Crew performance reviews and the resolution of performance issues
- Training and developing future Shift Managers
Office Administration
- Assisting with duties such as banking and cash handling policies
- Troubleshooting POS system
Miscellaneous
- Ensuring the line and reach-in cooler are organized and clean
- Managing daily and weekly cleaning of the line, dining room and restrooms
- Assisting with the execution of marketing promotions
YOUR REQUIREMENTS
- Previous Fast Casual Restaurant experience a must
- Knowledge and experience of cash handling policies and procedures
- Knowledge of Food Safety and health department matters
- Ability to speak, write, read and understand English
- A high school diploma
Required qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Available to work: weekdays
- 2+ years of experience in the food & restaurant industry
- At least high school diploma or equivalent or higher
Preferred qualifications:
- Management skills: supervising employees
- Management skills: writing schedules
- Management skills: resolving customer complaints
- Management skills: managing employee conflicts
- Restaurant back of house skills: dishwashing
- Restaurant back of house skills: general food prep
- Restaurant back of house skills: safe food handling
- Restaurant back of house skills: catering setup & prep
- Restaurant front of house skills: serving in fast casual
- Restaurant front of house skills: catering service
- Restaurant front of house skills: point of sale (POS) operation
- 2-3 years of total work experience
- Able to stand for duration of shift
- Able to comfortably lift 30 lbs
- Food Service license/certification: ServSafe Food Handler Certification
