Job Description
Cleans and stocks areas of the Small Animal Clinic. Provides basic nursing care to all patients of all services admitted for treatment to the Small Animal Clinic of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Provides assistance to clinical faculty, residents, interns, licensed veterinary technicians and veterinary students with patient care and animal restraint. Follow biosecurity protocol for each patient.
Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of companion animal anatomy and physiology, knowledge of basic nursing skills. Experience in a veterinary clinical setting. Must be able to recognize needs and establish priorities in order to ensure quality patient care. Ability to follow instructions, good communication skills, and ability to handle and restrain animals. Must be able to safely move and handle up to 50 lbs. Rabies prophylaxis is required (provided by employer).
