Weapon Systems Mechanical Engineer
Key Role:
Apply engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, or maintenance of mechanical systems. Apply advanced consulting and extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience with designing, developing, fabricating, integrating, analyzing, or upgrading prototypes, scale models, mock-ups, and test beds
- 7+ years of experience with developing, reviewing, or updating technical drawings and specifications for system designs and interfaces
- 4+ years of experience with analyzing alternative designs or improvements to technological systems and components through parametric and sensitivity performance studies to determine how electrical, mechanical, thermal, command and control, or environmental variables affect system output and effectiveness and writing trade-off studies as a result of these analyses
- Experience with supporting combat or weapon systems for Department of Defense
- Experience with using Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling tools, including SolidWorks.
- Experience in S&T or R&D environments
- Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or technical field
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with developing and using computer simulations and theoretical models to inform design decisions
- Experience with performing finite element analysis and operating modeling and simulation tools, including SPICE or CST MWS
- Experience with developing Technical Data Packages (TDPs), including drawings, associated lists, specification, standards, performance requirements, quality assurance provisions, and packaging details
- Experience with researching, fabricating, or machining parts or equipment for brass boards, prototypes, test fixtures, test targets, and integration platforms
- Experience with performing test and evaluation activities
- Knowledge of Directed Energy, including high power RF and microwaves
- Master's degree in a scientific, engineering, or technical field
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.Work Model
