SRI International is looking for motivated individuals to join the team developing solutions for a US Government customer conducting test and evaluation activities. The current SRI group is developing hardware and software that controls components and integrates these components on unmanned platforms. The mission involves data collection, real-time situational awareness and visualization, command and control, data analysis, and communications.
Positions include software development, algorithm development, and RF/telemetry engineering and will be located at an office at Eglin AFB, FL. Some hybrid work is acceptable. Project work has exciting future opportunities funded by the government, commercial entities, and internal research and development funding. Travel opportunities exist for customer interaction and test events both within the US and internationally.
- Design satellite communications systems to transmit collected data
- Act as the lead designer on complex or challenging technical problems
- Compose objective, quantifiable trade studies to guide critical architectural decisions affecting the performance of other systems and subsystems
- Create analytical models which prove compliance to performance specifications
- Develop requirements; write supplier statements of work, and direct supplier development and validation of product designs.
- Design user interfaces and electrical interface controls documents to allow integration of vendor-supplied and locally-designed subsystems.
- Present technical briefings to management, program officials, and technical staff.
- Liaison between various internal organizations at various levels, including but not limited to: program managers, product line chief engineers, executive engineering staff
- Includes up to 15-20% occasional travel to support satellite and antennas both domestic and international
- BS or MS Electrical Engineering preferred or similar
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Experience with RF engineering and theory
- 10-15+ years' experience with telemetry including ground station operations, integrating hardware and software, testing planning and checkouts, heavy data analysis, RF link, antenna tracking, etc...
- Experience with RF receivers including Lumistar, Cortex and Quasonix
- Experience with data analysis using MATLAB, Python, LabView, etc...
- Any project lead or team lead experience is a plus
The salary range is: $120,025 - $159,034. Salary ranges for this role will vary and are based on several factors, including, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles.
