POSITION SUMMARY: The Student Life Student Assistant for Budgets (SLAB) is to assist the departments of Student Life and Student Services/Student Affairs in the continuing organization, management, and tracking of budgets for clubs. The SLAB will also be responsible for the processing of purchase orders. As the SLAB, you will also be ensuring the proper operation of the Student Services front desk, serving the Student Life and Student Services/Student Affairs departments in addition to the Motherhouse residence hall community. Therefore, the SLAB should be comfortable working within a culturally diverse population of both students and faculty, should have some prior knowledge of a residence education atmosphere, and should possess the proven ability to provide a level of high quality customer service while maintaining a respectful and professional work environment. In addition, the SLAB is responsible for maintaining an above satisfactory level of security within the residence halls and responding quickly and effectively in emergency situations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Organize, manage, and track budgets for clubs
* Record all club budget transactions for SGA
* Work with clubs and organizations on purchase order approvals
* Help administer purchase order processes for department
* Provide secretarial support for the Student Services Center including, typing, filing, scanning, mass mailings, and processing purchase orders.

OTHER DESK DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Answering a phone; transferring calls and being responsible/reactive to other forms of electronic communication.
* Customer Service: assist with the greeting of visitors and handling inquiries from department staff, faculty, residents, students, and the public.
* Assist in maintaining a secure living environment through proper policy enforcement.
* Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Student Life staff.
* Participate in and promote a culture of continuing quality improvement
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Cannot be an executive board member of a SGA sponsored club. A high school diploma is required. Individual must be enrolled at least part-time at the University of St. Francis. Individual must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Individual must demonstrate a commitment to quality customer service, helping others, upholding a positive attitude, developing strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and maintaining a high level of maturity and responsibility. High level of experience with organizing, managing, and tracking budgets. Above satisfactory computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and/or ability to integrate personal Macintosh software/files. Willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the University. Ability to lift at least 30 pounds. Clear background and credit check.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in an office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent working on a computer. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: sitting, walking, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
Pay Rate Hourly 13.00 Hours / Week Shifts will vary in regards to a 9:00am-5:00pm customer service oriented desk. Shifts will be assigned based on personal availability with 12-17 hours being the average. Close Date Quick Link
