Description:

As the first Analytical Biochemist at Kula Bio, you will help us in our mission to create sustainable nitrogen solutions by evaluating organic and inorganic properties of fermentation products.


On a regular day, you will develop in-house custom analytical methods and execute routine sample analysis of plant or soil-derived molecules, conduct failure analysis investigations and drive to achieve accurate results as part of a fast-moving start-up on the brink of something big! In addition, you will design, author and execute protocols, commission, install, and validate analytical equipment such as HPLC, GC, chromatography, biochemistry analyzer, or a carbon/Nitrogen Analyzer, and maintain such equipment.


To thrive in this position, you balance scientific creativity and technical innovation with practical business needs. You have hands-on experience in assay development and qualification/validation and enjoy being directly involved in the day-to-day activities. You promote and demonstrate safe behaviors through personal and team participation in SHE activities. Finally, essential to your success in this role is strong analytical experience in advanced organic and inorganic characterization of fermentation products and a pioneering attitude with a passion for supporting advancements in the ag-biotech industry.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Analytical Biochemistry or biochemistry preferred
  • At least three (3) years of experience in Ag-Biotech and/or fermentation products desired
  • Knowledge and experience with HPLC/UPLC covering various detection systems, including IC, C/N analyzer, GC, UV/VIS, titrations, and similar instruments
  • Experience with analyzing plant and/or soil-derived molecules is a plus.
