Silgan Closures is seeking an APPLICATION ENGINEER at our Corporate Headquarters & Innovation Center in Downers Grove, IL. In this role, you will work with Engineering, Sales, Technical Service and all research groups to bring products to commercialization. Apply today!

What you’ll do:

• Perform physical testing on packaging components.
• Analyze data and write technical reports to solve problems, to get new materials approved and to bring new products to commercialization.
• Interact with internal departments to solve packaging problems and to get new materials approved.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging or Engineering.
• Minimum three (3) years related operational experience with exposure to cap manufacturing, customer packaging processes and equipment knowledge.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Must be capable of setting up, programming and operating automated inspection equipment.
