Certified Surgical Tech CVOR Full Time Days Position Summary


Under the direction of the Nurse, performs sub-professional duties including utilizing sterile technique to assist physicians during surgery. Assists licensed staff and physicians as directed within approved standards. Performs other related duties as directed. Assumes the responsibility for meeting the basic needs of all patients assigned. Provides care to a patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise indicated. Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals. Provides quality care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned. Must be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed.








THE CERTIFIED SURGICAL TECH OR FT DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

Education
1. High school graduate or equivalent


2. Successfully completed an accredited educational program for surgical technologists AND hold and maintains the Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by the NBSTSA; or has completed an appropriate training for surgical technology in the US armed forces or the US Public Health Service; or was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility in South Carolina before 01/01/2008; or is in the service of the federal government.


3. Must have current BCLS certification


4. Previous hospital experience preferred


5. Must be certified through the NBSTSA
