Summary


Certified Medical Assistant to assist physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office. Maintains efficient patient flow and assists with patient care, i.e. exams, procedures and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician. Performs triage, monitors and records vitals of all visiting patients. Ensures medical documentation of office visits. Assist with Office and scheduling coordinator in their absence (if necessary).


Responsibilities



  • Assist physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office


  • Maintains efficient patient flow and assists with patient care, i.e. exams, procedures and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician


  • Performs triage, monitors and records vitals of all visiting patients


  • Perform EKG and Phlebotomy, as applicable


  • Ensures medical documentation of office visits


  • Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner



Education/Experience


Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Graduate from Medical Assistant program preferred


  • At least 1 year of experience in a Medical Setting, preferable in a Physician Practice


  • Certified Medical Assistant through one of the following; National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), or the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)


  • EMR/EHR experience preferred, NextGen or Athena experience preferred


  • Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR for Healthcare Provider required


  • Proficiency in a windows environment with a working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and the Internet is required


  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and employees


  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment
