Description SAIC is seeking a highly experienced and motivated senior level Computer Microarchitecture Engineer to join a multifaceted and rewarding program with a government customer. The successful candidate will assist in establishing requirements for computer architecture related design decisions, acquisitions, evaluation, and characterization of novel and nuanced operating constraints. The ideal candidate will need to effectively communicate uniquely complex topics with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The work will be performed in the Dulles and Tysons areas. Responsibilities Include: * Establishing requirements for acquisitions related to computer architectures * Evaluating computer architecture concepts and designs for feasibility and compatibility with customer goals * Analyze and evaluate user requirements to ensure they collaborate with design elements * Supporting and facilitating the analysis of workload profiles and key performance characteristics and establish an analytic standard for evaluation and assessment * Conducting and reviewing performance analyses for bottleneck identification * Characterizing hardware authentication and verification methodologies Qualifications * Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field with 9+ years of experience (Master's degree preferred) Experience with performance modeling, performance analysis, and workload characterization * Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph * Experience in Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) development/application, core micro-architecture trade-off analysis, CPU security, memory subsystem design, fabric and scalable design, fundamental DRAM concepts, and reliability architecture * Experience building root file systems, and modifying boot code. * Experience developing firmware for CPUs, GPUs, or other processing elements within a computing platform. * Experience with electrical bring-up / benchtop testing of entire computer motherboard. * Experience deploying bare metal workloads on silicon boards for the purpose of performance measurement and board tuning. * Knowledge of basic networking, database, and storage of system administration concepts. * Understanding of semiconductor device fabrication techniques and device packaging. * Working knowledge of soft-core architectures, such as ARM. * CONUS travel may be required ~10% of the time Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
