Delivery Driver - Hyco - Full-time / Part-time

Position Title: Delivery Driver

Supervisor: Branch Manager

FLSA: Non-exempt (Paid by the hour)

Position Summary:

Loads merchandise into box truck and drives an assigned route to deliver a wide range of merchandise to customers

Essential Functions:

1. Load and unload boxes with the use of a hand truck for delivery. May need to go up and down steps with hand truck and merchandise during deliveries.
2. Occasionally load and unload pallets with merchandise from box truck with use of a manual pallet jack or scooter.
3. Must inspect vehicle before and after each shift and immediately notify Manager of any damages or concerns.
4. Maintain vehicle, adding air, fluids and oil as needed.
5. Must follow Department of Transportation regulations.
6. Drive assigned routes in a safe and timely manner.
7. Monitor traffic conditions to avoid delays.
8. Read and interpret maps and GPS directions.
9. Ensure address on package matches up to delivery address.
10. Maintain logs of deliveries.
11. Ensure inventory loads match shipping papers
12. Take payments when needed.
13. Present change and receipts.
14. Provide friendly and courteous customer service.
15. Complete required logs and reports

Other Responsibilities:

1. Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

1. Valid Class B CDL license.
2. Good driving record
3. Proven working experience as a delivery driver
4. High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
5. Must be able to communicate in English.
6. Ability to calculate basic figures to ensure deliveries are correct.
7. Commitment to company values and strong customer orientation.

Work Environment:

1. Temperature is regulated by the employee while in the truck but once delivering, exposure is to ambient temperatures.
2. Works mostly on the road, and will frequent businesses such as restaurants, delis, country clubs, day cares, and schools.
