Glacier National Park sees over 3 million annual visitors and encompasses just over 1 million acres of largely wilderness area and is known for its seemingly endless acres of rugged and breathtaking landscapes. Glacier National Park was established in 1910 and stands today as a monument to wild natural places. As part of the Crown of the Continent ecosystem, the park includes 175 named mountains, 762 lakes (131 named lakes), 200+ named waterfalls and 26 named glaciers, as well as 1,000 plant species, and hundreds of animal species. Employees can explore the park’s 745 miles of hiking trails, take a bus tour on Going-to-the-Sun Road, or kayak in clear lakes.
The Details:
- Seasonal positions start in early-April to May and extend through late-September to early-October 2023 (dates depend on Location)
- Pay Rate: $18.40/hour
- Schedule Varies: Average 40+ hours/week (depending on location and time of season)

Responsibilities
- Assisting Maintenance Manager with direct supervision and administration of all departmental employees;.
- Prepare proper and accurate documentation of all worked performed.
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
- Follow OSHA and Xanterra’s environmental practices, safety practices, and policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Possess the administrative and technical knowledge and 2 years’ experience to effectively manage related responsibilities and staff.
- Ability to efficiently communicate with staff, be self-motivated, and be able to work independently.
- Have a keen eye for details and problem solving.
- Possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.
Physical Requirements:
- This position may require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations. OSHA standards require a clean-shaved face and a medical screening.
- Must be able to walk distances over uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 70 pounds. Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the day.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, kneel, and crawl for extended periods of time.
- Working safely with required chemicals, tools, and equipment.
- A valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record are required.
