Become a Lockheed Martin mechanical engineer. You are meant to solve the hardest challenges. Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support current program needs including development, production, fabrication, and procurement activities as required. Additional work scope includes program production support, and leading FRB corrective action plan (CAP). Candidate shall develop/generate CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, sub-assemblies and integration test articles. Requires significant coordination effort with suppliers, electronic packaging, and structural/thermal/material analysts. Individual will be responsible for answering Change Requests, generating Change Notice's, and presenting/supporting change boards. Effort requires ability to perform design trade studies evaluating cost, weight, structural/thermal benefits. The engineers responsibilities will include: Performing conceptual and detailed design / Trade Studies Responsible for initial release and engineering change notice creation / drawing revisions. Will perform structural and optomechanical design, Component, assembly, and installation modeling using a 3D CAD Software tool (Creo) and creation of 2D production type drawings. Coordination with other engineering disciplines. Application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) and Tolerance analysis. Perform engineering liaison activities during hardware fabrication / procurement. Interface with other functional departments (manufacturing engineering, production operations, quality assurance, materials). Develop / revise hardware standard repair procedures / MRB Disposition / Producibility improvements. Vendor / supplier coordination. Prepare and present at program reviews (internal and external) Relocation: Relocation assistance is possible for this exciting position. The Locale: Orlando is a city in the Central Florida area. Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
-Proficiency with CREO (Pro/Engineer) is required.
-Experience with developing and interpreting GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 is required.
-Experience with PTC Windchill is required.
-Basic Microsoft Office skills is required.
-Needs ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance. US citizenship required.
Desired Skills:
-Good verbal and written communication skills are highly desirable.
-Multiple programs will be worked concurrently and the ability to coordinate and prioritize conflicting priorities is highly desirable. -Occasional overtime may be required to satisfy schedule requirements.
-Experience on SAR programs/contracts is desirable.
-Experience with lab and flight integration and test support is a plus. -CAM experience/training is a plus.
-Project lead experience is a plus.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
