Engineer III, Test Automation - Full-time / Part-time

What We're Looking For:

Are you an experienced engineer looking for a thrilling new opportunity? Look no further! Iridium is seeking a talented Engineer III to join our Software Development team. What You'll Do:

Be responsible for developing, testing, and troubleshooting software solutions for the Iridium network
• Work independently to deliver high-quality work and drive projects and deliverables to completion, including assisting with software development life-cycle activities
• Design, development, and testing of software systems and applications
• Recognize issues pertaining to software development and craft/propose solutions to these issues
• Develop and maintain software documentation and procedures
• Analyze data and use it to make routine decisions related to software development
• Support system and network integration efforts
• Coordinate with other engineers and teams to ensure software solutions meet business requirements and quality standards

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues
• Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come up with solutions
• Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when needed
• Have confidence and be able to establish valuable relationships with others
• Must be able to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your work
• Be active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledge

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

• Experience with C, C++, Java, or Python programming languages
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies
• Knowledge of satellite communication systems
• Experience with Linux operating systems

We'll also need you to:

• Be available for on-call support as needed.
• Travel up to 10% of the time.
• US Citizenship required

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer. For meetings in person, this position will need to be able stand, walk within the office and climb stairs on occasion.
