About the Job

As a Registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Department in Dallas, Texas, this position is responsible for the care of patients, ranging from infants to adults, with delivering appropriate care to patients and families. Our patient population is primarily pulmonary, sepsis, endocrine, overdose/ingestions, and spinal fusions. We are working on our level 3 trauma designation and expanding surgical services.

Some Highlighted Responsibilities

  • Management of Chest Tubes, Feeding Tubes, High Flow Oxygen, Nasal Cannulas, Tracheostomies, Ventilators, Central Lines, IV Medications
  • Assessing and maintaining appropriate pain control in post-operative patients
  • Evaluates and revises the plan of care based on evolving needs.
  • Provides comprehensive, individualized teaching based on identified learning needs of families.
  • Communicates in an accurate, objective manner.
  • Responds to verbal and nonverbal communication.
  • Identifies problems and reports these to appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

Experience 1 years' RN experience in an PICU

Education: BSN

License: TX RN License

Certification:

BLS, ACLS and PALS
