Technical Writer I with Security Clearance - Now Hiring

Overview Technical Writer I (E30-2023-18652): Bowhead seeks to network with qualified individuals for an future need for a Technical Writer I for work on NSWC Dahlgren supporting the E30 Gun Weapon Systems Division to join our team. The position is not yet funded, however the contract is in the first year of a five year contract. The Technical Writer I performs work relating to technical documentation review, formatting, and editing. The Technical Writer I reports to a Team Lead. Responsibilities * Pe rforms proof reading, editing, and formatting of technical documentation. * Ensures written material is accurate, complete, and meets editorial and Government specifications. * Adheres to standards for quality documentation, graphics, coverage, format, and style. * Researches supplies and materials through vendors on the open market, as needed. * Distributes supplies to local customer locations, as needed. * Processes and tracks project procurements in a prompt, cooperative, and efficient manner from pre-order through invoice payment. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Minimum one (1) year of experience in administration office environments. * Proficient with various computer systems and databases. * Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. * Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team. Physical Demands: * Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds * Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time * Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain security clearance at the Secret level.
