Fairview Health Services is hiring an Emergency Department Inpatient Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at our M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital located in Burnsville, MN. We're offering an $11,250 Sign On Bonus!! Emergency Department Inpatient Nurses provide emergency nursing care for a diversified population of all age distributions and all problem types in a very lively Emergency Room. Schedule: This position will be working a 0.6 FTE, 12-hour night shifts, 48 hours per pay period, with an every third weekend rotation. The hospital has been providing state-of-the-art care and community services to the residents of the scenic Minnesota Valley since 1984. We have 45 beds, see an average of 191 patients daily, and a yearly census of approximately 66,000 and growing! The patient population served by the Emergency Department consists of newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients requiring or seeking medical care. Emergency Department Inpatient Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities: As an Emergency Department Inpatient Nurse you will be responsible for * monitoring care caring for observation patients and inpatients who are awaiting admission to an appropriate unit. * Provide med/surg nursing care experience within the emergency department setting and the adult inpatitent wing on the 4th floor of the hospital. * Triage patients effectively according to policies, laws, and resources. * Uses the nursing process to provide care for any patient presenting to the department. An individualized plan of care is developed in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team to support the physical and emotional needs of a wide variety of ill/ injured patients. * Prioritizes the care of multiple patients with varied presentations. * Initiates timely interventions to prevent, correct, or minimize risks to the patient. * Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare team to develop and execute a plan of care to address patient presentations to the ED including illnesses and injuries in all age groups. * Provides effective and timely patient/family education related to the treatment plan. * Recognizes and responds to subtle or rapid changes in patient status After one year of experience in this role, the RN will have an opportunity to cross-train and transition into the emergency department. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
