We are hiring for an Assistant General Manager at Truly LA!

The Taproom Assistant Manager is responsible for leading the drink program at TrulyLA as well as assisting the General Manager with the day-to-day operations of TLA; which includes but is not limited to; opening and closing TLA, proper staffing and scheduling, safety, building sales, completing the TLA Manager's Opening Checklist, cash handling and data entry. They are also responsible for assisting the General Manager in creating a positive guest experience by providing the TLA team with superior product education and hospitality training. The team member will assist in enforcing all safety protocols, employee policies, participate in disciplinary conversations and terminations, as needed. The Assistant Manager and Lead Mixologist will help ensure all required position trainings and general part-time employee trainings are completed in a timely manner and will work with the other Assistant Managers to support the General Manager in continuously developing, evaluating, and coaching our Team

What You'll Brew:

  • Opens/Closes - weekend and weekday shifts
  • Responsible for oversight of tip reporting, payroll and adhering to California employment laws
  • In conjunction with all management, enforces compliance and adherence to all employment policies within the Team Code of Conduct
  • Partakes in oral and written discipline
  • Assists with terminations as needed
  • Manages through a "hands on" collaborative approach
  • This includes but is not limited to non-scheduled assistance with bartending, retail, bar backing and security
  • Works closely with Brewing Operations and Managers on:
  • Forecasting, ordering, and receiving product at TLA as well as maintaining proper inventory levels
  • Creating menus and updating signage/materials as needed
  • Continuously developing an exceptional tour and hospitality experience for
  • Exuding culture, creativity and fun on every shift by following the Boston Beer Company Statement and Operating guidelines
  • Completes daily petty cash log and approvals
  • Properly counts, deposits, and assigns tip pool earnings for hourly staff
  • Completes daily hard count, tip-drops, resets tills at proper levels, places change orders and prepares weekly deposits
  • Processes invoices, assigns cost centers and approves them in a timely manner
  • Partners with General Manager and Assistant Managers to ensure all employees have completed required certifications and trainings
  • Ensures that the cleanliness of the property and the safety of our guests and employees are always maintained
  • Works with internal and contracted security to ensure all policies and all industry legal protocol are always followed
  • Desire to provide the highest quality product with a focus on customer servic
  • Understanding of craft cocktails beyond knowing standards and basics
  • Interpret current trends, position competitively, and execute at all volumes
  • Cost and forecast financials associated with drink program
  • Create dynamic drink list including ingredient sourcing, purveyors, and seasonal ability
  • Select, order, and maintain cocktail-related inventory (mixers, garnishes etc)
  • Provide regular care and maintenance for drink machines.
  • Effectively communicate new beverage program updates and announcements.
  • Train and coach bar staff on proper and consistent cocktail creation.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing dynamic Trulixir menu using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic offerings.
  • Work in partnership with TrulyLA coworkers to ensure a well-stocked bar is prepped and ready for every service
  • Develop and evolve bar materials, checklists, SOPs, inventory sheets, recipe cards, etc.
  • Ability to think on one's feet in a high volume, faced paced environment
  • Serve as the "face" of TLA's beverageprogram, including occasional interviews, conducting training for Sales groups, and participating in ongoing
  • programing/festivals when appropriate
  • Partners with the General Manager and Assistant Managers on:
  • Ensuring all employees receive position training - bartenders, security, retail, tour guides, bar backs, etc., and any other general employee training
  • Participates in hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and training of Retail Associates and all employees
  • Creates, revises, and facilitates continued beer education training for all staff
  • Partners with General Manager to complete employee evaluations on an annual basis
  • Assists with development of Key Holders and all other hourly employees

What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in customer service/cocktail environment.
  • 1+ years experience managing a bar with an emphasis in beverage sales.
  • 1+ years experience with inventory, ordering supplies, and COGS assessment.
  • 1+ years experience running a mixology program.
  • 1+ years as a people manager in a hospitality setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in an organized and detail-oriented manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-task environment and under time constraints and deadlines
  • The ability to multi-task and problem-solve in a high-pressure environment
  • Passion for craft beer, hard seltzer, and/or craft cocktails, and a desire to learn
  • Strong computer skills. Must be well versed in Excel, Word, Outlook and Square
  • Outgoing and personable.
  • Open to coaching and constructive feedback from peers and leadership team
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Ability to interact well with others and conduct a safe, fun, interactive, educational and successful promotion involving alcohol
