This position would be at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level without tenure (WOT) due to funding. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Assistant professors (WOT) are eligible for multi-year appointments and associate professors (WOT) and full professors (WOT) hold indefinite appointments that all align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

The selected candidates will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing funded clinical and laboratory research programs related to the biology and therapy of cancer. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity and resources to develop his/her own clinical research program. The position will also involve participation in the clinical and instructional activities of the Division of Medical Oncology. Teaching responsibilities would involve oversight of housestaff and fellows during your ambulatory and inpatient activities and delivery of selected lectures to housestaff and the general medical community.

The base salary range for this position will be: $21,250 - $32,667 per month ($255,000 - $392,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.  Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.  Please see additional benefits that may be available:

This position will require work to be performed on-site at a Fred Hutch Cancer (Fred Hutch) facility. Fred Hutch requires all individuals, including University of Washington faculty clinicians, working at a Fred Hutch facility to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. As such, a UW offer associated with this recruitment is contingent upon, among other things, the preferred candidate demonstrating that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by no later than the commencement of their appointment.

Anticipated start date would be January 1, 2024.
