This is one (1) year full-time contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion to career appointment based on business needs and funding availability.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a combination of onsite and remote work.
This position will remain open until filled.
Incumbent serves as Senior Trainer & Client Support Analyst within Organizational Excellence (OE) -- a division of Business and Financial Services (BFS). This position will partner with various divisions within Business & Financial Services (BFS) and Finance/Administrative constituencies from other Vice Chancellor areas to address training gaps for use and optimization of UC San Diego (enterprise) Oracle Financial Information system based on training and client support data.
This position ensures alignment with training framework objectives for other enterprise financial applications (e.g., Concur, Payment Compass etc). Develops and executes training curriculum, courseware and tools for instructor-led, workshop and web-based training for role-based end-users to successfully utilize enterprise systems including customized financial modules and other integrated systems. Provides residual training support and helps department transition to the standard client support for ongoing needs. Ensures data integrity and develops new and existing metrics for measuring success as a continuous feedback loop. Monitors training results through employee progress and maintains records of training attendance to determine program effectiveness. Creates and maintains a training database to organize and track individual training information. Identifies opportunities for growth and development to align with department-wide talent alignment & succession planning efforts.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Strong policy analysis techniques. Demonstrated experience in common project management approaches, tools, and project lifecycle phases.
Strong analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Thorough knowledge of delivering training programs and thorough knowledge of other areas of human resources. Proven skill in professional high-quality adult instructional design, development, and delivery. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and practices.
Thorough knowledge of current training programs and trends.
Strong skills in conducting needs assessments and developing new training courses to meet organizational needs. Demonstrated skill in developing integrated curriculum, considering content, sequence, methodology, and delivery options. Skill using course authoring, graphics, and presentation software for developing web-based training. Applied knowledge in identifying and assessing training needs.
Applied knowledge of HTML and web editors to, include experience with Articulate, Piktochart, ServiceNow, Cascade CMS, YouTube, Atlassian Confluence, the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Access, Visio), or equivalent software applications. Applied knowledge of analysis of instructional technology needs and system capabilities to meet organizational, departmental, and individual employee requirements, matching appropriate methodology to identified needs.
Strong skills in planning, resourcing, and monitoring effective training delivery. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to set project objectives, determine and address potential barriers, identify required resources, identify process steps and milestones and adjust action plans to achieve desired outcomes.
Thorough knowledge of applying adult learning theories and education methodologies. Understanding of adult learning styles and the ability to conceptualize, develop and evaluate effective delivery techniques.
Experience working successfully with course and service statistics. Ability to analyze statistical usage data and prepare reports.
Five (5) years demonstrated experience in developing programs and initiatives related to professional development and skill training in the workplace or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with software/systems to coordinate, track, and design programs/materials, such as Google Apps, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with design programs like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Photoshop.
Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on background check results.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $53,600 - $111,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $25.67 - $53.45
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
