Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working knowledge of computers
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 6 months to 1 year of related EMS experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Requirements (i.e., certificates, license, registrations)

1. Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience
2. Valid State of Connecticut Paramedic License (experience preferred)
3. Valid Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider CPR certification
4. Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advance Life Support certifications
5. Valid Prehospital Trauma Life Support certification (optional)
6. Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination

Responsibilities:

• Responds to instructions from emergency medical dispatchers and performs assignments in a timely manner
• Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls calmly, efficiently, and promptly to administer necessary life support, either basic or acute to patients in accordance with State protocol while in a pre-hospital setting and during transport to the hospital
• Operates emergency vehicles in accordance with regulations and company policy
• Assures proper stocking, re-stocking and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment
• Provides accurate and timely written and typed communication on patient disposition
• Responsible for performing various duties at base locations; i.e., general cleanliness of the base location including sleeping quarters
• Attends company mandated staff sessions

*Full time sign on bonus paid in $250.00 increments at 3mos. / 6mos. / 9mos. and 1 year of full time employment.

**Part time sign on bonus paid in $250.00 increments at 6mos. and 1 year of part time employment. Part time employees must meet the 24 hour per month minimum hours requirement in all months of employment to qualify for payment.
