Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on students' needs and goals.
- Provide therapy to enhance articulation, language comprehension, expressive language skills, and social communication abilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication goals.
- Monitor and document progress, adjusting therapy strategies as necessary.
- Participate in meetings to discuss student progress and contribute valuable insights and recommendations.
- Educate and train parents and caregivers on techniques to promote communication development at home.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Connecticut state license or eligibility for licensure as an SLP.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and fellow professionals.
- Availability to work 20 hours per week during the summer months.
