Division Director, Vascular Diseases and Surgery
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Ohio State Wexner Medical Center are seeking an exceptional academic clinician with proven leadership skills to lead a highly successful vascular diseases and surgery division within the Department of Surgery. The Division of Vascular Diseases and Surgery has 7 faculty members. The division has 10 active clinical trials and boasts a portfolio of 9 grants, including $200,000 in grant funding. The Division specializes in the comprehensive care of diseases of the arteries, veins and lymphatic system. Each year, our division has more than 8,800 outpatient visits and performs more than 1,800 endovascular cases and major open vascular surgeries. We specialize in complete care for any vascular condition, from a patient’s initial visit to diagnostic testing, interventional or minimally invasive endovascular treatments (such as stenting and angioplasty), open surgical treatments (such as bypass surgery) and, most importantly, ongoing, lifelong post-treatment care. We’ve earned a procedure rating of “high performing” for aortic valve surgery from U.S. News & World Report.

Successful Candidate Qualifications:
• MD, MD/PhD or equivalent; Fellowship trained and Board Certified in Vascular Surgery
• Licensed/license eligible to practice medicine in the state of Ohio
• A minimum of 5-10 years of faculty experience in academic healthcare
• Extensive experience building a successful clinical practice
• Demonstrated leadership skills in building innovative programs, as well as developing  faculty
• Wide-ranging teaching experience and robust research background
• Qualify for academic appointment at an advanced rank
• An active research program in basic, translational, clinical or health services research is strongly desired

Responsibilities of this committed leader include:
• Leading an academic division
• Developing and expanding academic, clinical and basic research activities devoted to the surgical evaluation and management of vascular diseases
• Mentoring and developing faculty throughout the division
• Recruiting and retaining top talent to the program
• Ensuring Ohio State’s Division of Vascular Diseases and Surgery remains prominent on the national stage attributable to its innovative research, outstanding clinical care and strong outcomes
• Strategically partner with key stakeholders to align the mission, vision and values of the Heart and Vascular Center, Wexner Medical Center and the College of Medicine
• Work closely with institutional development to enhance the philanthropic endeavors of the Division of Vascular Diseases and Surgery
