Position Summary Information
General Information
The Enrollment Specialist will work with the School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) to recruit and retain students in assigned programs; this position will focus on the overall enrollment and recruitment strategies, systems, and processes for SPCE, including the online Adult Degree Program/Bachelor of Individualized Study. This position will be responsible for overseeing all contacts to prospective students, from initial inquiry through enrollment. The position will be responsible for managing information in the Customer Relationship Manager (CRM), also referred to as the Salesforce Student Success Hub. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, results-driven, and team-oriented, with strong customer service, organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop a robust understanding of the online Adult Degree Program and online noncredit professional development programs, and execute effective recruitment strategies to attract and enroll a diverse pool of prospective students. Utilize phone, email, SMS, Zoom, and other provided technologies to make and respond to all contacts to prospective students in assigned programs, with the goal of meeting lead and prospect targets. These leads and contacts will be generated by marketing activities conducted by a third-party marketing vendor, and this position will be responsible for ensuring that all leads are contacted according to set success metrics, and that those leads are shepherded through the application processes through enrollment and matriculation.
- Provide and manage data on recruitment and yield activities; analyze data for effectiveness and provide recommendations for further development of recruiting strategy and data management.
- Help implement the enrollment and recruiting strategy for the Adult Degree Program. Partner with University Marketing, Admissions, and other key stakeholders to drive this strategy.
- Partner closely with third-party advertising vendor and SPCE marketing and leadership teams to manage digital marketing campaigns, monitoring their effectiveness, and optimizing ad spend.
- Develop and maintain process maps for recruitment and marketing processes and communication flow. Identify and create new communication to move prospective students through the funnel. Monitor and evaluate the impact of communications.
- Strong persuasive skills with the ability to positively influence and motivate others. Ability to identify and articulate new business opportunities. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to balance a drive to meet enrollment goals with the brand/reputation of the university, SPCE, and assigned programs.
- Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships with a wide range of people and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.
- Experience with supporting online adult learners and nontraditional students.
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong follow-up, problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with CRM and online communication tools; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule with flexible hours.
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities (anticipating challenges, viable alternatives, successful resolutions, etc.).
