About this job

The ES&S Technician will work to implement and maintain emergency services and security (ES&S) work processes, practices, and systems for the site. The role requires broadened technical skills in emergency response and security to lead ES&S efforts at the site.

Responsibilities / Duties
    • Completes the emergency preparedness tasks per the site ES&S Preparedness Plan, including operating discipline.
  • Coordinates ES&S quarterly drills and annual exercises (tabletop/full scale) including planning, execution, post reviews, and improvements.
  • Operates emergency response equipment and enacts emergency response plans.
  • Executes the applicable steps from the emergency response plan or the alternate response plan and uses operating discipline to complete the response to the emergency.
  • Checks emergency preparedness and security task list annually to confirm tasks are value added.
  • Works with all security personnel in the preparation of secure asset plans and the development of operating discipline to execute secure asset tasks.
  • Trains and coordinates Security personnel on site.
  • Coordinates and leads Immediate Response Leader (IRL) training and operating discipline.
  • Coordinates the maintenance of equipment and facilities related to emergency services and security (Badge & Access systems, Fire System equipment, Cameras, Perimeter Fencing and site access control, Lock & Key management, landscaping, etc.).
  • ESS Incident Reporting procedure including entering incidents into Logbook
  • Conducts and documents investigations of incidents as required and ensures follow up actions to prevent re-occurrences are addressed. Involves other functions (e.g. Fraud Investigative Services, HR, I/S, etc.) where needed.
  • Site visitor policy management/execution including International Trade Organizations (ITO) processes
  • Management of site’s Public Communication/Alert/Alarm systems
  • Management of the site’s Emergency Operation Center & program
  • Participates in and supports ES&S-related audits and assessments as required (internal and external)
  • Coordinates and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, such as the Fire Department, contract security partners, and other local emergency response agencies.
  • Works with corporate and leveraged personnel to lead ES&S efforts and make improvements at the site.
  • Works on additional activities relating to the emergency and security programs for the site, as needed.

Experience
  • Completion of Short-Cycle Tertiary Degree (i.e. Associate's Degree) in related field plus emergency services and security, EH&S, manufacturing, military or other related experience preferred. In lieu of degree, 2 equivalent years of experience required.
