JOB SUMMARY:

This position serves as a supporting role as a Workday Financial Aid technical expert while also understanding the rules and regulations of the Federal requirements. This position supports all areas of Workday Student, including: Academic Advising, Student Records, Admissions, Foundation, Financial Aid, Student Financials, and Curriculum Management.

The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
* Workday Financial Aid issue tracking, resolution, and escalation Financial as needed;
* Workday Financial Aid reporting;
* Workday Financial Aid business process configuration and testing;
* Change management.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Troubleshoot Workday Financial Aid configuration and reporting issues;
  • Communicate with Workday Support about bugs and other system issues;
  • Keep meeting minutes of change management meetings;
  • Provide training and development support to Financial Aid Office and other staff as needed;
  • Provide support to the Financial Aid Office in testing and implementing system updates (weekly and biannual) to ensure optimal configuration by coordinating the testing and data validation processes;
  • Help gather requirements for reports and process improvements;
  • Create, modify, maintain, and support a variety of Workday Financial Aid reports;
  • Troubleshoot Workday Financial Aid configuration and reporting issues to identify and fix root causes;
  • Attain and maintain knowledge of current and new Workday functionality through various professional development opportunities;
  • Work with development and technical staff on business processes and integrations as needed;
  • Research issues, analyze possible solutions, collaborate, test and implement agreed upon conclusions;
  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Enterprise Systems.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years of directly related work experience;
  • Knowledge of and worked with Federal Rules of Student Aid (FAFSA);
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving, information systems environment;
  • Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments, organize work, make decisions, and function independently;
  • Ability to work effectively with College staff and administrators on all levels;
  • Self-starter with proven ability to deliver results;
  • Knowledge and expertise in the use of Microsoft Excel;
  • Knowledge of Workday Financial Aid a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
