About this job

The Maintenance Custodian is a part-time position that provides light maintenance and custodian services for the Sellersburg campus. Duties include, but are not limited to, floor care, cleaning restrooms, classrooms and offices, and snow removal. Provides general service in response to work orders requests. Reports to the Director of Facilities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs housekeeping duties including cleaning, trash removal, etc., throughout assigned areas.

  • Cleans, waxes, and maintains floors throughout assigned areas.

  • Maintains cleanliness of restrooms.

  • Maintains cleanliness of parking lots, sidewalks, and grounds using available equipment.

  • Performs snow removal when required.

  • Provides general service in response to select work requests.

  • Assists in event set-up and tear-down when necessary.

  • Performs other duties as assigned consistent with commonly accepted practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires general knowledge of housekeeping methods.

  • Requires general knowledge of building and grounds maintenance procedures.

  • High School diploma or its equivalent (GED).

  • Proven experience, punctuality, dependability and trustworthiness.
