Position Information
Under the general direction of the Lead Academic Advisor/Assistant Director in the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS) Undergraduate Academic Advising Center, the position provides fundamental academic advising to prospective and current undergraduate students and uses the principles of developmental academic advising and a knowledge of teaching and learning theory to promote academic, career and life goals in an effort to support student academic success, retention, timeliness to degree and intellectual and personal development. This position is responsible for programs such as, CNAS Transition Advising program, CNAS articulation officer, CNAS Scholarship and awards program and the CNAS Commencement programmer.
The full salary range for the Student Academic Advisor 3 position is $54,200 - $93,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $54,200 - $73,700 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is ten weeks after their first date of employment.

Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Knowledge of multiple majors, colleges, and schools.
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving.
