Job Summary
High-volume, award-winning Low Country Quisine, located in Farmers Branch, Texas, is adding an experienced cook to the team, to contribute to our ever expanding business ventures.
Our full service Catering Company offers a fantastic work environment. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment with daily variety, this could be the job for you! We provide catering for groups ranging from 15 people to 2,000 people on a regular basis throughout the DFW Metroplex.
Job duties will include but are NOT limited to:
- Assisting Kitchen Supervisor in Managing Kitchen and Staff
- Prepping of ingredients for events.
- Maintaining a clean work station.
- Cooking, grilling, some baking etc.
- Daily kitchen organization.
- Receiving inventory from vendors.
- Occasional help with delivering catering orders.
- Working at off-site catered event.
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate (verbal and written) in English with vendors, co-workers, management on all matters relating to the business
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions using logic and problem solving
- Ability to write and perform daily prep list and par sheets for all shifts
- Self-motivated, and ability to work with limited supervision
- Meet deadline for projects and new requests
- Maintain good working relationship with the management team, sales, and operations.
- Inventory, order and receive ingredients and culinary supplies with management and vendors
- Prepare and properly store food items for advanced production
- Ensure food is stored at the appropriate temperature for the appropriate length of time and follows all food safety standards
- Monitor proper sanitation procedures for all kitchen facilities and equipment
- Keep kitchen clear and organized for day-to-day operation
- Assist in producing and plating plates
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time (at least 8 hours/shift)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include: AM/PM, weekends, holidays and catering events
- Ability to stand for extended period of time (at least 8 hours/shift)
- Actively participate in menu development process and weekly Production Meetings
- Ability to cook and prepare food according to production guidelines and recipes and presentation standards
- Must know methods of food preparation, cooking times, and portion sizes
- Have current and relevant knowledge of trends of the food service industry
Requirements
- 3 years experience cooking in commercial kitchen. Catering experience required.
- Large-scale commercial prep cooking experience
- Valid drivers license and a clean driving record
- Must be able to lift 40+ lbs.
-Must be available to work some nights, weekends, and holidays
-Must be able to Read and Write in English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
