Special Education Teacher

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2023-24 school year in Abbeville, SC. As a contracted professional, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, collaborating with other educators and professionals to provide the best possible education for each student.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Assess students' abilities and create appropriate instructional strategies and materials.
• Adapt general education lessons to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
• Utilize various teaching methods and techniques to engage students and facilitate their learning.
• Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide a comprehensive educational experience.
• Monitor and track student progress, documenting and reporting on their achievements.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns or developments.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Special Education.
• Prior experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a school setting.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school.
