Revenue Analyst Trainee This is an entry-level position. Training will be provided. Seeking candidate with the aptitude to comprehend the required skills necessary to fulfill the job expectations below. The Revenue Analyst Trainee works under the supervision of the Revenue Compliance Analyst to identify revenue owed to the City of Baltimore. 1. Works to maximize the collection of taxes and fees due to the City and ensures adherence to laws, program guidelines and rules and regulations. 2 Audits the financial records of businesses to resolve issues and provide analysis. Issues bills and correspondence as needed. Audits various internal and external systems and processes and analyzes gaps and trends. 3. Understands the laws and documents policies, programs, rules and regulations to ensure compliance and develops new strategies to achieve revenue maximization. Analyzes and resolves issues related to revenue analysis. 4. Performs monthly revenue analysis and reporting. Maintains documentation of all revenue related activity for reference purposes. 5. Assists with internal technical support and special projects as needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of basic accounting principles Strong analytical, technical and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently, under supervision, as part of a team, and in a creative environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field with 0 – 3 years of experience. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, candidate has 5+ years of work experience with some college coursework in Business, Accounting, or related field. Strong analytical, interpersonal, relationship building and customer service skills. Strong computer skill set in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to compile data, interpret data and create reports. Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills. Ability to speak and write English clearly and concisely.
