rovide supervisory coverage for the Nursing Departments, other patient care areas and the hospital in general, during assigned shifts and/or after-hours. Assists physicians and staff in assigning admission status serves as a reference and resources person for staff, patient and family; coordinates patient care with other departments.

Minimum Education

Graduate of a Program in Professional Nursing required Bachelor’s degree preferred

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.  Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure continuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville.

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association preferred

Licenses

Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State required

Minimum Work Experience

Previous two (2) year's of experience in acute care hospital setting required.
