About this job

Looking for a reliable, experienced individual to work part-time in a Short Order Cook & Food Prep position in a small scratch kitchen.  Candidate must have a minimum of two years of Kitchen Experience and a ServSafe certification. Applicants should be passionate about putting out consistent, quality food and seeking opportunities to learn and grow in the kitchen. You should be able to follow recipes and take direction from the Chef and also explore your creativity where appropriate. This is a part time position with the potential to expand hours and responsibilities.

 

  • Responsibilities:

*Prepare burgers, sandwiches and other menu items to customer specifications

*Wash, chop, slice vegetables

  • *Prepare salads
  • *Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • *Assemble food orders to completion
  • *Wash dishes, flatware, pots and pans, take out trash
  • *Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (grill, fryer)
  • *Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • *Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • *Adhere to all sanitation and food production procedures
  • *Comply with sanitation guidelines
  • *Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
  • *Must have reliable transportation

Skills & Qualifications

  • *Knowledge of safe food-handling procedures and safety rules in a kitchen - ServSafe Certification Required
  • *Demonstrate proper knowledge of station preparedness: product utilization and rotation, shelf life, correct portioning per item, never wasting usable product.
  • *Previous experience working as a Short Order Cook
  • *Ability to multi-task and take direction
  • *Prior experience portioning meat
  • *Possess excellent and safe knife skills
  • *Weekend availability required

  • 19 years or older
