QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:
- An Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field;
- A minimum of two (2) years of proven admissions and recruitment work experience;
- Effective public speaker with excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Strong organization and interpersonal skills;
- Detail-orientated with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects;
- Experience planning and implementing special events;
- Proficient skills in various technologies (i.e, Microsoft Office Suite of applications, applicant tracking systems, etc.),
- Experience in data reporting and tracking as well as proficiency with Microsoft Excel;
- Ability to relate well to high school students, parents, teachers, and the general public;
- Ability to work independently as well as with others;
- A valid Florida driver's license and ability to travel; within IRSC's service district
- Fluency in Spanish preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Actively recruiting prospective students to meet enrollment goals;
- Organizing all recruitment efforts along with the Associate VP Recruitment and Admissions & Recruitment Coordinator in IRSC's service district
- Understanding of underrepresented, first generation, first time in college, low-income, minority and rural students;
- Recruiting students in both traditional academic programs as well as career and technical education programs;
- Partnering with Campus Directors at the branch campuses as well as academic programs throughout the college to help guide the Recruitment Team;
- Assisting in the operations of the Welcome Desk in the Student Success Center;
- Creating and maintaining relationships with businesses, chambers of commerce, and economic development partners to promote IRSC programs and attract new students;
- Fostering relationships with IRSC's school district CTE teachers, counselors, teachers, and graduation coaches;
- Creating a strong network of connections with nonprofits that assist underrepresented populations and promoting IRSC programs that can assist with career building;
- Speaking and presenting to audiences of all types;
- Creating and managing a robust recruitment calendar.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Design a strategic plan with Recruitment Coordinator for recruitment efforts in IRSC's service district
- Manage the repository of recruitment items to be used across the college
- Oversee program outreach and recruitment;
- Oversee daily activities of the Student Success Center Welcome Desk;
- Conduct high school classroom presentations, participate in college fairs, and answer questions regarding admissions processes;
- Coordinate with Recruitment Coordinator all campus wide visits and answer email
- Coordinate and complete all other duties as assigned by the Associate VP Recruitment and Admissions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and to present oral lectures/demonstrations, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. Some lifting of computer and electronic equipment may be required. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
