The Sr. Director, Corporate Engagement is a member of the Development Department and, as such, must maintain a broad knowledge of development and Society strategies and operations, uphold our culture, contribute to strategic and operational discussions, and ensure the achievement of the Society plan and budget. A primary responsibility is to work effectively with staff in all other functions and with volunteers.
The Sr. Director is a senior level relationship contact for the Society to national and global companies. This position is responsible for developing strategic business relationships to secure funding for nationwide priorities. The Sr. Director works with staff and volunteer leaders to build a pipeline and a strong active portfolio of accounts to achieve significant revenue targets.
This role can be held 100% remotely anywhere across the US!
Essential Function/Responsibility
Grow Revenue: (80%)
- Serves as the primary relationship lead for a portfolio of priority corporations, corporate foundations, C-Suite executives, and other high impact individuals.
- Responsible for prospect research, recruitment, cultivation, and retention of corporate partners.
- Aligns corporation's affinities and needs with the priorities of the Society with a focus on securing six-figure revenue partnerships.
- Leverages volunteers and staff as door openers and relationship builders to build a pipeline of prospects.
- Build a diverse portfolio of national accounts for national sponsorship, campaign, and programmatic funding.
- Oversee the delivery of high-level constituent experience and stewardship to cultivate expanded partnerships.
- Partners with account manager and support functions to ensure successful corporate program execution.
- Engage in external activities to understand and react to industry and donor trends.
- Assess risk and opportunities and adjust plans accordingly.
Increase Capacity and Ensure Effective Operations (20%)
- Work effectively with all departments to deliver objectives.
- Lead joint company strategic account planning process that develops mutual goals and objectives, revenue targets and critical milestones on a multi-year basis.
- Develops, with others, the annual operational plan, budget, and quarterly forecast.
- Maintains a broad knowledge of Society priorities and activities.
- Accountable to implement the operational plans, and ensure all staff contribute to positive morale, solve problems, own decisions, and engage in continuous improvement
- Monitors own revenue and expense areas and contributes to the effectiveness of revenue and expenses management of the entire department.
- Ensures communication and integration both within the development team and with all other departments.
