RTS Jr. Team Leader

Summary of Job

The junior team lead is responsible for assisting the senior operator & team lead in the set up and control of flow on multiple lines.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Setup and assist in the control of flow on multiple lines
• Assist with line string up of material at start-ups or change overs.
• Operate feeding system, application of reclaim
• Conduct mandrel changes, die set ups, oven set ups, string up on the California room
• Assist in setting up run recipe for extruders including temperature profile controls.
• Understand blowing agent profile and hazards along with its operating system.
• Understand and know how to do Silo reports.
• Know and perform additive and color cycle counts.
• Assist Lead in operation of extruders to complete production schedule
• Must read and follow instructions from Lead & Supervisor daily and report critical data.
• Assist lead in Resin unloading from railcars.
• Demonstrate the ability to change screens on all extruders.
• Actively participate in all continuous improvement, safety, and quality initiatives
• Housekeeping throughout assigned shift to ensure an orderly and safe environment.
• Support, demonstrate and promote Pregis' core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus and innovation. Must be able to mentor newer operators on safe working habits.
• Participate in operational skills training and demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new skills.
• Assist in the training of level 1 & 2 operators.
• Adheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
• Attends meetings and completes safety trainings as required.

• Prior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge.

Physical Characteristics

• Repetitive use of wrist, hands, and fingers.
• Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%.

• Frequent use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles (up to 30-50 lbs.)
• Occasional bending and twisting.
• Occasional reaching.
• Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.

Position Type

• Full time
• 8 hours
• Overtime expected per business demand

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• At least two to three (2- 3) years' experience in a manufacturing / production environment.
• Must currently be in a lead role overseeing at least five (5) employees.

• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Additional auxiliary equipment: Possess or learn the ability to operate Forklift, Cranes, Floor Jacks, Saws, Knives (other hand tools).

Compensation

• The pay range for this position is $24/hr. to $26.49/hr. The Company offers paid vacation time, paid sick leave, medical, dental and vision plans as well as a 401(k) with employer match.
