The Material Planner plays an important role in ensuring operational success for the supply chain organization at Sonos. As Material Planning Manager, you will be responsible for proactive material readiness, reporting on availability, and visibility at a product level impacts. This role requires interaction with the GSM team, planning team, operation team, and Contract Manufacturers to manage demand and supply. You will take a proactive approach to identifying operational supply interruptions, working with a cross-functional team to resolve issues.
This role is about impact, not location, so you can be based anywhere in North America or at one of our hub offices in Santa Barbara, Boston, Seattle, or San Francisco.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee overall material status in collaboration with the MPM team in China.
- Collaborate with GSM team members, material planners, and cross-functional teams to ensure the supply of components.
- Partner with the CM to review material requirements and flow details, including inventories.
- Execute material allocation strategies between factories, lines, and products.
- Report critical material shortages to executive management and program teams.
- Deliver clear-to-build status, material coverage, run-out reports, and other analyses as needed to plan production and achieve business targets.
- Provide data-driven decision support to the broader organization through what-if and scenario planning.
- Possess expertise in each commodity to proactively mitigate the risk of supply issues.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of urgency and escalate critical issues in a timely manner.
- Identify excess and obsolete (E&O) risk of material, develop material recommendations, and execute actions to meet target inventory and service level goals while minimizing costs and obsolescence.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree.
- Minimum 5+ years of work experience in an MPM role, 10+ years in Supply Chain.
- Ability to use data for problem solving.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Proficient in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.).
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented thinking skills.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP Systems.
- Solid understanding of discrete manufacturing, bills of material, product lifecycle management, and supply chain operations.
- Ability to work in multinational environments and adapt to different time zones.
- Proven experience in working closely with both internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in forecasting or demand planning.
- Experience in supply chain management.
- Experience in the consumer electronics industry/high tech.
- Working knowledge of CM/EMS preferred.
- Experience working with Asia-based CM.
- Any sourcing system experience is a plus.

All full time employees are eligible for merit increases, discretionary bonuses, and equity. Our job postings may span more than one career level and the base pay range may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions. The starting base pay for this role for all US candidates is between:
$141,000 and $156,200Please note that compensation details listed in US job postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
