JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction, this position develops, coordinates, and facilitates goals and objectives related to the grant and Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). Works closely with IRSC partners and students. Collaborates with IRSC faculty and staff and communicates accomplishments, goals and objectives. Manages all aspects of the grant project, including reports and budgets. Assists with college initiatives in the recruitment, retention, and success of students

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Plans and coordinates training and projects.
  • Assists with the supervising all program staff.
  • Prepares quarterly and annual reports to the college and funding providers.
  • Conducts program evaluations.
  • Oversees the schedule and operations of the De Las Promesa to practice: ensures Hispanic student success at IRSC grant and corresponding Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) at IRSC.
  • Plans and coordinates subject-matter experts to deliver content knowledge.
  • Effectively completes and manages grant deliverables.
  • Responds to emails, texts, and calls in a timely manner.
  • Records and reports on project deliverables, progress, and outcomes.
  • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required, master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of at least three (3) years of experience working in education required.
  • Experience working with recruitment, enrollment, and/or retention initiatives.
  • Proven experience in program/project development, implementation, and management.
  • Knowledge of grant accounting
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written to include strength in presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to individual differences of students from a culturally diverse student population;
  • Computer proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Self-starter with high character and integrity.
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to design and oversee a multi-faceted project.
  • Spanish language skills preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
