*Laboratory Assistant Opportunities - (UTICA, NY) - Full-time / Part-time

MVHS is offering up to a $1,000 sign-on bonus for new and experienced Laboratory Assistants!

A unique MVHS program gives new Laboratory Assistant positions (Lab Assistant I, II, PSC, or Lead) 100% tuition reimbursement (up to $2,000) as part of a sign-on and retention program. Relevant training tuition from a local program (MVCC, BOCES or equivalent) are paid out over the course of a two-year payback and retention program.

Pay Range $16.00 - $22.00 Hourly 

MVHS Laboratory Assistants perform high quality laboratory specimen collection using capillary or venipuncture techniques according to laboratory policy and procedure while treating all with respect and kindness. The Laboratory Assistant will provide patient collection instructions when appropriate. Using the latest computer technology in the industry today, the Laboratory Assistant will accurately and precisely identify patients, perform computer registration, prepare samples for transport and assist technical personnel with assigned tasks when necessary. The Laboratory Assistant will works under the direct supervision of the director, manager, supervisor or charge technologist as assigned.

REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma

PREFERRED:

• Phlebotomy work experience or phlebotomy course
   

PREFERRED:

• Current and Valid NYS Driver’s License in good standing
