Maintenance Supervisor

Please note that this position is with the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word at Villa de Matel Center located in Houston, Texas. The Villa de Matel Center is the home for the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. It is also used as a central gathering place for the Sisters and their ministries, a retirement center for the Sisters and a retreat center for the public. Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Villa de Matel Center facilities and associated properties by providing supervision and instruction to a diversified group of Associates and contractors. The Maintenance Supervisor is expected to have building maintenance experience and able to assist team when needed and in emergencies. Basic building operations and hands on general maintenance experience is required.

Requirements:

A. Education/Skills

· High school diploma or equivalency required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills. 

· Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and other trades.

· Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams and written specifications.

· Basic Civil and Structural knowledge.

· Basic Landscaping knowledge. 

· Ability to communicate in the Spanish language is highly preferred.

B. Experience

· Hands on experience in general maintenance, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEPF) for minimal 10 years.

· Supervisor for construction, operations, or general maintenance team of 10 or more employees with at least 5 years of experience.

· Subcontractor and vendor interaction, contract preparation, and cost proposal negotiation experience.

· Budget and invoice processing experience.

C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

· Boiler operators permit, preferred
