Strategic Account Manager - Distributor Channel

SFC is seeking a high-performing and results driven Sales Manager to join our growing industrial sales team. Reporting to the VP, Sales main objective is to increase sales and revenue nationally of branded industrial footwear through strategic distributor channels. The Account Manager is also responsible for implementing short and long-term brand strategies with key accounts and partners. The incumbent establishes specific targets and goals, ensures that product lines are brought to market in an effective, profitable manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow existing account base
  • Acquisition of new distributor accounts
  • Analyzes key account budgets and understands buyer's market in order to build and present industrial product lines
  • Tracks margins to ensure internal/external divisional margin objectives are achieved and meet business objectives
  • Follows up and coordinates with key accounts
  • Provides upper management with all necessary buy and margin information
  • Establish strong business relationships with key accounts through weekly/monthly/quarterly meetings
  • Strong comprehension of value proposition and product knowledge
  • Presents new product lines and conducts product training to accounts
  • Implements business and marketing strategies necessary to achieve target budgets
  • Coordinate with planning to ensure fulfillment of account orders
  • Drives sales with suggested promotional activity/advertising plans
  • Interacts regularly with key internal departments such as marketing, merchandising & design, sourcing and forecasting, customer service, finance, production and planning
  • Participate and coordinate trade shows

Experience:

  • 5-7+ years distributor/wholesale sales experience
  • Experience in footwear and/or apparel an asset
  • Education: Bachelor degree or relevant work experience in field
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of market trends, retail trends, consumer demands
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Highly self motivated
    • Team player
    • Computer literate in MS Office suite
    • Advanced computer skills
    • Ability to build selling strategies
    • Ability to read, understand and interpret various financial/sales reports
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
    • Occasional travel
