Summary

Per Se is hiring for a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for one of clients in Steam Boiler Plant industry. The plant has the capacity to produce 455 MW, with 3-LM6000's peaking units. As the Maintenance you will supervise and coordinate work associated with the maintenance of complex control systems. Provide functional and technical direction to operating and maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates all work associated with the maintenance of complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems. 
  • Provides functional and technical direction to operating and maintenance personnel on all station control systems. 
  • Performs and supervises bargaining unit associates in the repair of complex electrical systems including 480 Volt, 3 phase motors and controls, DC batteries, control circuits motors.
  • Works on high voltage equipment>1000 VAC power plant, PLC Systems and, a working knowledge of pneumatic controls used in a power plant environment and of steam power plant operations.
  • Maintains and upgrades the systems required for automatic operation of the power plants, including Boilers, Steam Driven Generator and LM 6000 units.
  • Develops and administers Corrective, Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Schedule/Program plant including DCS system.
  • Troubleshoots Distributed Controls and specific experience on utility boilers, turbines, and power plant equipment.
  • Purchases Parts and equipment for repair and maintenance of plant
  • PC/LAN & Computer Maintenance Management System Skills
  • Plan and coordinate Outages
  • Oversee the safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally sound operation of plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoot Mechanical and Electrical plant equipment to resolve operational problems.
  • Monitor and record data available using various instruments, recording charts, annunciator systems and other monitoring devices onto shift logs as directed by plant operational procedures.
  • Implement Plant Emergency Procedures as needed.
  • Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings.
  • Apply knowledge of power plant operations and basic power plant principles to daily decision-making and work tasks.
  • Work with multiple internal work groups and Contractors while carrying out duties.
  • Take, record, and analyze readings of various electrical and mechanical meters.
  • Training of Maintenance personnel in their qualifications.
  • Ensure maintenance PMs are performed.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job such as perform tasks while standing, walking, climbing, and squatting.

Preferred skills and expertise
 
  • Three or more years of power plant experience required. 
  • Excellent technical and organizational skills. 
  • Demonstrated leadership characteristic and potential. 
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and perform effectively without close supervision.
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail required.
  • Can work well with and through others internal and external to the plant.
  • Use discretion concerning confidential and sensitive company information.
