About this job


The Accounting Manager is a newly created position to scale with the Company’s growth and primarily responsible for managing the North America (NAM) general ledger function for US and Canada, including leading month-end close, advising and collaborating with cross functional teams, and the preparation/review and presentation of financial results. This highly visible leader is responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards in accordance with US GAAP and will interact with all levels of management including global finance teams and cross functional leadership. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Corporate Finance & Accounting, and has three direct reports.

Essential Functions And Key Responsibilities
  • Review US and Canada financial results for completeness and accuracy. Manage NAM month-end close including timely and accurate preparation and reviews of monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements, and other US GAAP reporting requirements using Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service (FCCS) and other tools
  • Perform detailed reviews of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by other accounting/finance staff; prepare complex journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Review US and Canada balance sheet reconciliations to manage timely identification and resolution of variances and ensure alignment on the usage of the global chart of accounts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional finance teams and review to ensure any NAM accounting estimates used and CAPEX requests are complete, accurate and in accordance with US GAAP
  • Review intercompany reconciliation variances during the financial close process to ensure proper eliminations
  • Review and maintain accurate accounting records for new/modifications of NAM leases in accordance with ASC842 utilizing Visual Lease accounting software
  • Lead, build, develop, and motivate a strong team of individuals to perform at the highest level; facilitate and foster a continuous learning and collaboration environment within the team.
  • Responsible for forecasting US and Canada financial results; work cross functionally to validate the completeness and accuracy of forecasts
  • Assist with audits including working with internal and external partners to fulfill audit requests mainly associated with the NAM entities
  • Write, implement, and maintain accounting policies, processes and procedures primarily impacting the NAM entities ensuring global consistency and compliance with US GAAP standards
  • Develop, document and implement streamlined processes to support compliance with the Company’s accounting policies and related internal controls, and facilitate the accuracy and timeliness of reported financial data in an efficient and effective manner
  • Responsible for researching, preparing accounting memos, and providing guidance on unique transactions and changes in US GAAP accounting standards primarily involving the NAM entities
  • Review agreements impacting US/Canada to identify and summarize accounting implications and ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Proactively monitor the Company’s accounting practices, current and future changes in US GAAP standards to determine the impacts to ensure accurate recording of transactions and ongoing compliance
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams on Oracle system setups to ensure proper accounting for new and existing business initiatives and transactions. Activities may include project management and testing of system changes
  • Lead presentations with senior finance management to present key financial results
  • Review select international balance sheet reconciliations to ensure alignment to the global policy and consistent usage of the global chart of accounts
  • Assist in the preparation/detailed review of the Company’s consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual financial results, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flows, and quarterly earnings reports and presentations
  • Performs other related responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge And Skills Requirements
  • Highly proficient understanding and application of US GAAP including new accounting standards
  • Experience with Oracle ERP, Oracle FCCS (Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service consolidation software) and FloQast a plus
  • Successful in identifying, developing, coaching and managing high-performing teams
  • Highly adaptable in a fast-paced and changing environment. Fast learner with strong organization, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Efficient and demonstrates a sense of urgency while delivering a large volume of high-quality work products
  • Strong communication (oral and written), presentation skills.
  • Ability to consolidate data from various sources and develop creative and innovative solutions within an entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong skills in Business Objects (or other reporting software), data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., DOMO/Tableau) a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others at all levels and functions
  • Advanced knowledge of other Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
Education, Work Experience, And Professional Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other related field
  • 5+ years public accounting experience; Big 4 audit experience preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing teams
  • CPA required
  • Experience working in a multinational organization with intercompany eliminations and consolidations including foreign subsidiaries
  • Experience with technical accounting topics including acquisition accounting, foreign currency hedging, intercompany eliminations and consolidations, new accounting standard implementations preferred
  • Financial statement preparation and Sarbanes-Oxley experience preferred
