School Psychologist - Remote Opening

Objective: Follows identification and placement procedures as specified in federal, state, and district guidelines for entry into programs for PreK - 12 students. Provide counseling services & crisis intervention as needed via teletherapy. Participation in IEPs, IEP meetings.


  • Licensed School Psychologist in Virginia
  • Master's Degree in School Psychology
  • 2+ years of experience in schools

Essential duties:

  • Assure that students recommended for evaluation are assessed in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Review, write, or interpret reports concerning assessments of students to parents and appropriate personnel
  • Provide counseling services as needed
  • Provide information to parents concerning other available sources of services
  • Assure that students with disabilities are reevaluated in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Participate in eligibility/placement/IEP conferences as necessary
  • Maintain case records on all students evaluated
  • Assist in making recommendations for students identified as needing special education services
  • Assist teachers by making instructional or behavioral recommendations as needed
  • Perform such other tasks as may be assigned
  • Follows identification and placement procedures as specified in federal, state, and district guidelines for entry into programs for children with disabilities
  • Reviews existing assessment data, administers assessments, and integrates assessment data in order to compose professional psycho-educational and ADD/ADHD reports related to individual student learning and behavior problems
  • Communicates instructional and behavioral implications of evaluation results to parents, teachers, and principals and makes recommendations for instructional programming
  • Maintains a tracking system for the disposition of referral, evaluation, and placement of students into special education
  • Provides crisis intervention assistance to students and school staff upon request
  • Maintains awareness and expertise in current professional research, trends, and methodologies as they apply to school psychological services and special education and related services by attending appropriate training, conferences, and/or workshops
